When sea anemones dream (for stereo fixed media and one or more performers) has been selected for performance at the New Century Improv Ensemble's upcoming Spring concert.  The work will be performed by the NCIE at the Catlett Music Center at the University of Oklahoma on April 21, 2020.

Permission to Engage has been selected for performance at eviMus Festival 2019 in Germany.  The work will be presented at KuBa - Kulturzentrum am EuroBahnhof in Saarbrücken on October 31, 2019.

Convergence for Clarinet and Electronics (the 2019 version) will be premiered by Dr. Geon Joo Kim at her solo recital 'ELECTRONICA-III' at Ilshin Hall, Seoul, Korea on November 29, 2019.

The revised version of Elliptical Orbits (2015/rev. 2019) will receive its premiere at the Symposium on Spatial Sound Arts, Seoul at the PLATFORM-L Contemporary Art Center on September 7, 2019.  The work will be reinterpreted with a three-dimensional audio system at this concert.

Sang Mi has received a commission from the HWAUM Chamber Orchestra in Korea.  The new commissioned work for Baritone, Violin, Cello, Percussion, Voice, and Electronics will be premiered at the opening ceremony for the EXiS2017 (International Experimental Film-Video Festival in Seoul) on July 13, 2017.

Sang Mi has received a commission from the HWAUM Chamber Orchestra in Korea.  The new work will be premiered at Wooyang Museum of Contemporary Art in Gyeongju, Korea on May 20, 2016.

Sang Mi's new 12-channel piece Seoulscape will be heard in Berlin, Germany on November 28-29 as part of "12 Bubbles for Orbanism Festival".  The project 12 bubbles is a sound installation based on a dozen solar-powered and wireless-controlled speakers.

Permission to Engage has been selected to participate in 'MUSLAB 2015'.  The festival will take a place in 20 different venues in 9 cities of Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and France, with the support of 36 different institutions between the months of October and December of 2015.

Convergence has been selected for presentation at the 17th World Saxophone Congress and Festival held in Strasbourg, France.  The piece will receive its French premiere by saxophonist Heidi Radtke at Cité de la musique et de la danse - Salle 23 on July 12.

Water 3.18 has been selected for the 2nd International Competition  “art! ⋈ climate” for the creation of miniatures of sound art related to the climate change effects and the global environmental crisis.

Convergence has been accepted for presentation at the 2015 SEAMUS National Conference.  The conference will be held at Virginia Tech on March 26-28.

Metabolism has been selected by The Sleeper Society for its upcoming performance in Cardiff, UK on February 19, 2015.  The concert will serve to provide artists to showcase their work, as well as raise money for local charity Touch Trust (www.touchtrust.co.uk).

Sang Mi wins the 2014 Indiana University Dean's Prize in Composition with her dissertation Valley of Dry Bones for Orchestra. The winning work will be premiered by Indiana University Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Fagen on March 4, 2015.

Convergence (winning work of the 2013 Heckscher Composition Prize) will be performed by saxophonist Steven Mauk at the Americas Society in New York City on April 14.  The program also includes works by Sanchez-Gutierrez, Foss, Grossmann, Garrido-Lecca, and Davidovsky.

Dirge for the Earth Elements was selected as a finalist in the Third Biennial Maurice Gardner Composition Competition held by the American Viola Society. The piece was written in collaboration with violist Tze-Ying Wu at Indiana University.

Sang Mi won the 2013 Heckscher Foundation - Ithaca College Composition Prize with her piece Convergence. The work will be performed by faculty saxophonist Steven Mauk at the Ithaca College Contemporary Ensemble concert on April 10, 2014.

Metro Graffiti has been selected for performance at the 2014 Conference of the International Trumpet Guild (ITG).  It will appear as part of the New Works Recitals at the conference in May, 2014 in Valley Forge, PA.

Permission to Engage has been accepted for performance at the Symposium on Acoustic Ecology, which will be held at the University of Kent in U.K. on the 8th and 9th of November 2013.

The Symposium on Acoustic Ecology explores themes related to the influence of audio technology on listening patterns and behaviors, neuroscientific theories of perception, as well as soundscapes in scientific, musical, social, and cultural contexts. This year's keynote
speakers include Barry Truax, Katharine Norman and Richard Ranft.

Loki's Castle has been selected for performance at 2013 Midwest Composers Symposium to represent Indiana University in Large Ensemble Category.  The piece will be performed by the Contemporary Directions Ensemble (Christopher James Lees, Conductor) at the opening concert on November 15 at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance.

​Convergence for Alto Saxophone and Electronics has been accepted for the performance at the 2013 International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) in Perth, Western Australia, August 14th.

Sang Mi won the 31st Republic of Korea Composition Prize with her piece, Loki's Castle (2010). This is one of the most prestigious awards given to Korean composers of traditional and western music. The competition this year was held for composers of western music with prizes awarded to winners of orchestral/opera music, chamber music, and solo/song categories. Loki's Castle won the category for chamber music and will be performed at the Award Ceremony in the Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Center (Goyang, Korea) on November 22, 2012.
