When sea anemones dream (for stereo fixed media and one or more performers) has been selected for performance at the New Century Improv Ensemble's upcoming Spring concert. The work will be performed by the NCIE at the Catlett Music Center at the University of Oklahoma on April 21, 2020.
Sang Mi recently gave a talk on her orchestral piece Valley of Dry Bones as a guest composer at the Composition Workshop at the Korea National University of Arts on December 6, 2019.
Convergence for Clarinet and Electronics (the 2019 version) will be premiered by Dr. Geon Joo Kim at her solo recital 'ELECTRONICA-III' at Ilshin Hall, Seoul, Korea on November 29, 2019.

Sang Mi's new 12-channel piece Seoulscape will be heard in Berlin, Germany on November 28-29 as part of "12 Bubbles for Orbanism Festival". The project 12 bubbles is a sound installation based on a dozen solar-powered and wireless-controlled speakers.
Permission to Engage has been selected to participate in 'MUSLAB 2015'. The festival will take a place in 20 different venues in 9 cities of Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and France, with the support of 36 different institutions between the months of October and December of 2015.

Sang Mi wins the 2014 Indiana University Dean's Prize in Composition with her dissertation Valley of Dry Bones for Orchestra. The winning work will be premiered by Indiana University Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Fagen on March 4, 2015.

Permission to Engage has been accepted for performance at the Symposium on Acoustic Ecology, which will be held at the University of Kent in U.K. on the 8th and 9th of November 2013.
The Symposium on Acoustic Ecology explores themes related to the influence of audio technology on listening patterns and behaviors, neuroscientific theories of perception, as well as soundscapes in scientific, musical, social, and cultural contexts. This year's keynote
speakers include Barry Truax, Katharine Norman and Richard Ranft.
Loki's Castle has been selected for performance at 2013 Midwest Composers Symposium to represent Indiana University in Large Ensemble Category. The piece will be performed by the Contemporary Directions Ensemble (Christopher James Lees, Conductor) at the opening concert on November 15 at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance.
Sang Mi won the Judith Lang Zaimont Prize at the 2013 Competition of The International Alliance for Women in Music with her piece “Dirge for the Earth Elements” for Viola and Percussion.
Convergence for Alto Saxophone and Electronics has been accepted for the performance at the 2013 International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) in Perth, Western Australia, August 14th.
Sang Mi won the 31st Republic of Korea Composition Prize with her piece, Loki's Castle (2010). This is one of the most prestigious awards given to Korean composers of traditional and western music. The competition this year was held for composers of western music with prizes awarded to winners of orchestral/opera music, chamber music, and solo/song categories. Loki's Castle won the category for chamber music and will be performed at the Award Ceremony in the Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Center (Goyang, Korea) on November 22, 2012.
